Story

Kikis delivery service is all about a young witch finding a town to practice her witch skills for a year accompanied by her black cat she finds work as a courier and a new friend called asonao. She stays at asonos and works as a courier. Kiki then loses her ability to fly and visits a friend she’s met on the way who is an artist they have a conversation about how art and magic are very similar and how about sometimes you just need the right inspiration to perform it. She gets this inspiration when Tomo another friend she has met is in grave danger and it’s up to Kiki to fly and save him which of course she does because she finds her inspiration.

Characters 

Kiki is the main character in the movie and she is a bubbly positive person who only at certain points loses this attitude she always seems to regain it tho and come up with a new plan to fix the problem. 

Jiji is her pet black cat who she can speak to played by the fantastic phill hartman jijis sarcastic commentary was comedic all the way through.

Sound 

The sound design is a big part of these movies as even though they are animated. The director wants to present this film as realistic in a sense as possible. So all of the sound design needs to be a realistic as possible. 

Cinematography 

The cinematography in this film is amazing from the start of the film with the wide shots showing kikis journey to the other towns. To the close ups of emotion of laughter sadness and redemption. There is not a single wasted frame in this film evey camera angle every frame of animation is key to plot and all animated brilliantly by studio ghibli
