story
Seems to be the preacher has found out somebody has broken the rules of the cult and wants them dead and it seems the daughter is the one who has broken that rule. The preacher talks about two gay men who have slept together but it is actually the daughter and another woman who have. The story seems to have a kind of horror esqe feeling throughout the entire story. They are dragging the lesbian woman through the streets calling her an abomanation. The "abomonation" is left tied up and is about to be killed as we see these men in black robes very slighlty in some of the shots. She seems to have posioned the entire town with the holy wine. The cultists are still here as the daughter rescues her lover from the town.
Cinematography
Brilliant use of wide shots at the start in order to set up the locations with the town not being fully revealed but the countryside around it being revealed. More close ups of the characters emotions as we see the main character crying with a close up.The ending shot of them running from the town is great as it stays on them for a long take as they run through the grassy hill that were set up in early shots.
Charcaters
Seems to be the main characters are all part of some kind of English religious cult.
Main cultist is very charismatic as the leader and the rest of the town seems to be very interested in what he has to say in almost a trance just accepting everything the man is saying. The lesbain woman is having tomatoes thrown at her and is very clearly being disrespected and is about to be killed. The daughter kills the enitre town in some kind of fit of rage
Locations
The film is set in rural countryside in england with lots of wide shots of the countryside and the green rolling hills. Seems to be some kind of church the film is focused on.
