Story- Right at the start we are introduced to the main character through the use of a voice over. He talks about how he got to where he is using art to get there he talks about his struggles he had in his school due to his dyslexia and how it was seen back then he then goes on to say how he was abused by his teachers who beat him because of this. This is where we find out that he used art in order to escape these feelings and would draw in a book to make himself feel better about the school. The documentry then takes a werid turn and starts talking about how you need to understand yourself in the world before you do anything. He also seems to talk about the evolution of art and how it has changed over the years. The movie ends with him discussing the abillity to master yourself first before you can actually do anything successfully.
Cinematography- I enjoyed the cinematography in the film due to the use of the rotating shots when they were filming the art it gave an extra feeling to the shot and the art like it was much more mystical with these clay figures wrapped in darkness.when the shots were not focused on the art themselves they were either close ups of the artist or over the soldier shots of him walking in now town further reinforcing my point of this mysitical man in this foggy town.
Character
There was only one character in this film and it was the artist who I have already discussed. We are told that he is dyslexic but is Cleary shown to have some kind of advanced skills when it comes to art with the clay and the drawings we are shown .With all of the talk it seems the man is very philosophical and supernatural
Locations
there were only two locations shown in the film one was a country town at the seaside shrouded in sea fret with a shroud of mystery. The other location is the art galleries that he vists which have clay statues of certain enemies.
sound design
in the start of the video the sound of the hammer is isolated to give a sense of dread
and isolation yo the hammer. The voice over is also great at giving expostuotion
